Our first sponsor Hidden Pearls
We have been sponsored by this lovely organisation Hidden Pearls. Last week, my mobile rang at 11am on Saturday morning. I expected that the call would be from a person who would be interested in attending our event but I was surprised to hear that the caller was the CEO of Hidden Pearls. For those of you that don’t know about Hidden Pearls, i will ‘borrow’ their introduction from their own website. “We think of ourselves as a small batch business, starting in Janurary 2015; the company is our little baby. We are selling great quality products to our customers without having the high end price attached to them.”
I honestly was surprised by this call….So far we haven’t had any interest from any high street company in what are doing. Hopefully this is the first of many to come. The CEO expressed his great interest in what we do and offered his help and direction for our mission. I had a long conversation with him. He stressed the importance of the events that can bring different communities together especially in times where far-right is rising in Western political scene. He also kindly offered to sponsor us in our mission to bring Jews, Muslims & Christians together in such hostile times. We also had a discussion about how Burkini Ban in France is illiberal and infringing on freedom of speech & expression especially for women. He also told us how they set up their hijab shop in the first place and how it has grown. Speaking to him, I felt that our missions were same with the only difference being Hidden Pearls went more into the market whereas we went into non-profit sector.
If you are interested in sponsoring us, please contact us immediately as we won’t take more than 5 sponsors every year. First come, first serve!
